HIGHLIGHTS FROM APRIL 2013 TO OCTOBER 2013

Dear Friends,
Many greetings from AHM-Trust.
I am sorry for not having been unable able to report to you for several months. The reason is that I suddenly felt sick and after some prolonged procedure it was diagnosed as Dengue Fever, really a vicious infection. It took me more than two months to recover and another two months to regain my full strength. I am extremely grateful to our staff and particularly to my wife for carrying out all the programs as usual.
We therefore send you a consolidated report for last six months.
SENIOR CITIZENS HOME:
In June this year we opened the Senior Citizens Home for 30 persons.  The home provides all the necessary facilities for the aged. The government will take over 75 % of the running cost, which guaranties sustainability.
Senior citizen home as well as the Children’s home now run on solar energy. The Panels and all the other items were donated by an organization in Germany (Creating Smiles). The power supply is now round the clock.
Most of the photos speak for themselves.

MEDICAL CARE PROGRAM:
During the period 14,654 patients were treated in the Clinic.

We intensified our awareness program with street theatre, Exhibition, pamphlets, house visits etc. Health education in the school was important part of the education. We formed children federations at block level to take up the children related issues.
31 children are staying in Nesa Karangal children home. They are regularly going to school and study well, though as the photos reveal they are more keen on festivals and dancing than a daily visits to school.
We were happy to receive our supporter, The Hans Foundation, New Delhi. They visited on 3rd June 2013 and appreciated  our programs.
