HIGHLIGHTS OF AUGUST 2012

Greetings from A H M Trust. We are very happy to circulate the AHM Trust Highlights of August 2012.

On 11th August 2012 Mr. Raghvendra singh, Program Manager and Ms. Revati Anand, Deputy Program Manager from The Hans Foundation, New Delhi visited our organization. They appreciated our work and already promised their support.

ENTREPRENEUR DEVELOPMENT:

On 11th August 2012  our 37 Women Self Help Group Members from Women Empowerment program received Rs.46,00,000/- for Entrepreneur Development. Mr. O. Panneer Selvam,  Tamil Nadu Finance Minister presented  the cheque.


INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION:

The students of Vocational Training Centre  and Children of Nesa Karangal  Home celebrated the  Independence day  on  15th  August  2012.  Flag  hoisting  ceremony  was   conducted     by
Ms. Stella, the Joint Director.

At NesaKarangal Children Home we the day, celebrated together with the Lions Club of Bodinayakanur. They provided special meals for the children.

July updates

HIGHLIGHTS OF JULY 2012


Dear Well wishers,

Greetings from A H M Trust. We are very happy to circulate the AHM Trust Highlights of July 2012.
FREE DISTRIBUTION OF EDUCATION MATERIALS AND SCHOOL UNIFORMS
As we know that, education is the key to any development. We therefore support the school dropout children, HIV infected and affected children, children from the Commercial sex  workers, orphan, semi orphan, other vulnerable  children and children of poor families with monthly scholarship or direct payments for school-books, note-books, uniforms etc. Every year we buy several hundred note-books for the distribution to the children. Totally 182 children were benefitted.

EXTENSION OF CLINIC BUILDING
We have extended the clinic building. So for medicine store room and medicine distribution to the patients from the small room. Now we have separate two rooms for the medicine distribution and store room.
As well as we have provided better patients waiting arrangements under the tree.

EXTENSION OF VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRE
We have extended the toilet rooms for the boys and girls seperately. So for students are managing the wash rooms near by clinic. Now they are happily using at the nearby vocational training centre.


Funding for the extension of the buildings was supported by the Miriam Dean Fund. Thank you very much for Miriam Dean Fund and all our supporters.

June Updates

HIGHLIGHTS OF JUNE 2012

Greetings from A H M Trust. We are very happy to circulate the AHM Trust Highlights of June 2012.

NESA KARANGAL CHILDREN’S HOME
Children came to Nesa Karangal home after their vocation. On 1st June school was re -opened and all the children were promoted and happily went to school. This year 11 new children were admitted in the home.  6 elder children were admitted in the girls hostel of High school. At present 32 children are in the home and 15 children in the hostel.





AWARENESS ON DENGUE FEVER
Prevented dengue fever outbreak at Theni, and six southern districts of Tamil Nadu. We have created public awareness programme jointly with Government Health department officials and local bodies on dengue fever in and around Bodinayakanur through conducting the public meetings, distributing the awareness notice, giving health education at different villages. Dengue fever was under control in the district owing to measures taken on a war footing by strenuous joint efforts.


AWARENESS ON CHILD RIGHTS:
A H M Trust and District Social welfare department created awareness on Child rights regarding Foeticide, Child abuse, education of the girl children, to stop the early marriage and other Government schemes for the welfare of the girl children. Our women self help group members and children club members were participated in the rally walk  at uppukottai. Cultural programmes were also conducted.

CANTEEN OPENING CEREMONY AT GOVERNMENT PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRE:
Sakthi Parsakthi women self help group members opened a new canteen with stationary shop at Block level Government Primary Health Centre, Dombucherry with the support of AHM Trust. The Deputy Director of Health Services Dr. D. Kanjana was opened the shop. Dr. Thandayuthapani, Panchayat President Mr. Perumal, our staff and SHG members were participated. The patients of the Health centre are very happy to utilize the canteen.
