HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2015

Many Greetings from A H M Trust. We have the pleasure to circulate the AHM Trust Highlights for the month of August 2015.
MEDICAL CARE :
During this period 2447 patients were treated in the clinic includes 1763 old patients, 684 new patients and 3 new Tuberculosis positive patients.
COMMUNITY HEALTH :
Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization ( ACSM ) awareness activity on Tuberculosis held on 21st August 2015 at Boothipuram Panchayat for the School Children and the Public . Mass awareness Cultural programme on Prevention of the usage of plastic below 40 microns at six different places of B. Meenakshipuram and B. Melachokkanathapuram Panchayats held on 28th to 30th August 2015.
WOMEN EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME:
Stakeholders meeting of “End Bonded labour system” at Theni District level on 4th August 2015. The representative of Children and Women Government departments, different Voluntary organization, Community based organizations, Consumer council and Legal service participated and shared their views.
During this period the women self help group federation exhibited the trading products of imitation Jewelry, bags and fancy products in the Government Exhibition cum sales at Vaigai Dam and C.P.A College, Bodinayakanur.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION:
The Students of our Vocational Training Centre, children of Nesa Karangal Home and Senior citizens of Udhavum Karangal Home celebrated the Independence day on 15th August 2015. Flag hoisting ceremony was conducted by Ms. Stella, the Joint Director. On that day we celebrated together with the Lions club of Bodinayakanur. They provided special meals for the children.
CHILD PROTECTION AND WELFARE:
During this month CHILDLINE 1098 mass awareness and installing of a Complaint box programme was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Kadamalaikundu, Venkatachalapuram and Palanichettypatti. 2781 students benefitted. We have conducted awareness on Prevention of Child Marriage and Child abuse at Theni for the women Self Help Group Members and Open House at Seelayampatti village.
NATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION VISIT’S: Justice D. Murugesan, Member, National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi visited our organization on 25th August 2015. He met the staff and beneficiaries of the different activities and appreciated our service.
He discussed with the residents of the senior citizens and children about the facility provided by the organization and the Government and also verified the record systems which is maintained by us. The District Social Welfare Officer, the District Child Protection officer, the District Rehabilitation officer, RDO, Tahsildar and other Government officials were along with him.
STAFF DEVELOPMENT:
On 7th and 8th of this month we conducted training for the staff. The training was on Report and Documentation. All the staff participated actively.
